Q: How did you get into sports?
A: Growing up, sports were always something I was around. My family was very active in my community's sports teams, whether it was the local Little League or our school sports. I knew I wanted to work in sports when I was in 4th grade and met the General Manager of the Great Falls Voyagers. Seeing a woman at such a powerful role in sports was a really impactful moment for me, and hearing about her day to day as a GM of a baseball team inspired me a lot!
Q: Who is your role model in the sports industry?
A: I could name so many! A few that come to mind immediately are Lindsay Whalen, Cheryl Reeve, Muffet McGraw, and Mina Kimes.
Q: What made you want to work in the sports industry?
A: The impact sports have on every aspect of life is something that is very unique to sports, and something I've always been fascinated by. I wanted to be a part of something that brought people joy and made them feel such powerful emotions, but also has a great track record of being leveraged as a tool for social justice and things much larger than sports.
Q: What experiences do you have working in the sports industry?
A: Marketing and Gameday Intern with GW Athletics, Activation Volunteer with USA Marketing at the 2019 World Series
Q: How would you describe your journey and how you got to where you are today?
A: I think my journey has been fueled by consistent goal-setting, the expertise and mentorship of others, and my own curiosity! While the path hasn't always been as clear cut, those three factors have gotten me where I am today.
Q: What is something you wish you had known about going into the industry before college and applying to internships?
A: There are so many ways to get involved in the sports industry. Prior to coming to GW, I was very linear in thinking about careers that were in the sports industry. I wish I would have learned sooner that working in sports can mean so much more than just working for a team or league directly.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: Vice President for Marketing of the Minnesota Twins!
Q: What are you doing this summer?
A: I'm doing a virtual internship with Must Love Sports! The program was started in response to the number of students that had their summer internships canceled due to COVID-19 and gives us the opportunity to hear from and work alongside industry leaders from all around the world of sports!
Q: What is one thing people should definitely know about you?
A: In addition to being passionate about sports, I love cooking and spending time outdoors!
Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?
A: I'm left handed and my birthday is International Left Hander's Day!
