PRESIDENT

Alex Mattei is a junior from south Philadelphia studying statistics and data science. He aspires to work in sports statistics and data analytics for a major sports organization. He is extremely excited to step into the role of President for the 26-27 academic year and his main goals are to increase event engagement and present SBA as a more professionally-oriented organization. A deeply prideful Philly sports fan (Eagles (both Philadelphia and Crystal Palace), Sixers, and Phillies), he looks back fondly on the most recent Eagles super bowl victory. He can't wait to see what SBA accomplishes this year and hopes you'll join us in exploring the professional sports industry!

VICE PRESIDENT

Alex Morrison is a Junior majoring in Information Systems with a Concentration in Sports Management from Needham, MA. Alex is in his third year on SBA’s E-Board, this year as a Vice President as part of the Presidential Council. Alex’s big goal for SBA this year is to make it into one of the premier orgs in GWSB. Having worked at the World Cup in Boston this past summer and as a soccer coach with Volo, he brings a ton of experience in sports to the 2026-27 academic year. His favorite sports memory is catching a baseball at David Ortiz’ last game.

VICE PRESIDENT

Enzo Scippa is a Junior studying International Business and Finance from Boston, MA. He is excited to serve as the Vice President of the SBA, and looks forward to helping support the organization's initiatives throughout the year. His goals include creating exciting events for all members and helping the organization grow its impact on campus. Enzo loves sports and has played numerous sports throughout his life. He is also a diehard Napoli and New England Patriots fan, and his favorite sports memory is watching the Patriots comeback from 28-3 to win the Super Bowl. 

FINANCE CHAIR

Nigel Galvan is a sophomore from Dearborn, Michigan, studying Accounting with a concentration in Sports Management. He is excited to serve as the Finance Chair for SBA. Although his favorite sport is football (go Lions and Texans!), his favorite sports memories have been buying baseballs from different MLB stadiums, to which he has traveled around the United States to visit 14 MLB stadiums. Nigel hopes to work with the NFL in accounting and budgeting.

COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR

Daisen Iwan is a Sophomore from Rumson, New Jersey, majoring in General Business with concentrations in sport management and marketing. She is also a lacrosse player here at GW. She is the communications chair this year for the SBA. Her favorite sports are lacrosse, basketball, and football. She supports the OSU Buckeyes for football and the Cleveland Cavaliers in basketball!

EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Cy Cuchergould is a sophomore from Puerto Rico studying finance with a minor in economics and a concentration in sports management. As the editor-in-chief of the Sports Business Association this year, he is looking forward to continuing the success of both the blog and the website. He supports the Golden State Warriors and his favorite sports memory is watching his favorite team in the Puerto Rican professional basketball league (BSN) hit a buzzer beater in the playoffs last year.

ALUMNI RELATIONS CHAIR

Luke Brosi is a senior in the business school (International Business/Marketing) and has been a part of the SBA since his freshman year. Currently he serves as the Alumni Relations chair, leveraging the outreach skills he’s built with the NBA and CrowdStrike. His favorite sports team is the Ravens and his favorite sports memory is attending Super Bowl LVIII.

ALUMNI RELATIONS CHAIR

Freya Bardulla is a sophomore at GW studying Finance and serving as the Alumni Relations Chair for the Sports Business Association. She is interested in sports business, law, and the business side of the sports and entertainment industries. Her favorite team is the Philadelphia 76ers, and her favorite sports memory is watching the Eagles win the Super Bowl.

CONTENT CREATION CHAIR

Noor Kawalit is a second-year international business student from Amman, Jordan, who played on her country’s national football team and competed internationally. Her experience in women’s sports has driven her passion for sports leadership, marketing, and global sports development. She has worked on initiatives that promote female participation in athletics and expand access to sports opportunities. As Content Creation Chair, Noor aims to strengthen the organization’s digital presence, increase student engagement, and bring an international perspective to its content and community.

DESIGN CHAIR

Ilana Umanskiy is a second year student from Chicago, studying marketing and art history. After becoming one of the freshman representatives last year, she is now a social media chair, designing graphics to increase club engagements and create visually appealing content. She has been sailing for the past six years and with GW Sailing she serves as the marketing chair. Her favorite sports to watch are tennis and the WNBA and her favorite tennis player is Iga Swiatek. She is eager to continue supporting the SBA on the board as well as exploring her professional interests in sports apparel, operations, and marketing.

CO-PODCAST MANAGER

Colin Graham is a junior here at GWU and is studying business with concentrations in finance and sports management. He is the Co-Podcast Manager along with Jonah at the SBA. He played soccer for 10 years and is extremely passionate about all things sports, especially Philadelphia sports. His favorite sports memory is being in person to watch JT Realmuto’s inside-the-park home run during the Phillies 2022 playoff run.

CO-PODCAST MANAGER

Jonah DiGiacomo is a senior from Colorado studying Geography with minors in Business and Data Science, and serves as Co-Podcast Manager on the SBA Executive Board. Outside of SBA, he works as Analytics Manager for GW's Division I baseball team and as a Fan Logistics and Engagement Rep with the Washington Nationals, and previously held a marketing, communications, and events role with tennis agency Sports+Plus. His interests center on the intersection of sports analytics, communications, and operations. A lifelong Colorado Rockies fan, his favorite sports memory is meeting Frances Tiafoe.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT

Samir Rahman is in his second year in the Master’s in Sports Management program here at GW, and he’ll be serving as the graduate assistant for SBA this year. He has loved playing and watching basketball ever since he was in middle school. His favorite team is the Washington Wizards and favorite sports memory is John Wall’s game winning three against Boston in game 6 of the 2017 conference semifinals.
